A new party and MP for Huron-Bruce.
After more than a decade of Liberal Paul Steckle as MP in Huron-Bruce, the tables have turned in the Tory’s favour.
Conservative Ben Lobb took the riding by storm and won by almost six thousand votes.
Lobb says seeing his campaign take the lead so early on last night and then holding on was a nice change from the last federal election.
In 2006, Lobb lost to Steckle by less than one thousand votes.
Lobb says he wants to focus on manufacturing issues, as well as agriculture, the economy and the environment in his time as a member of Parliament.
Lobb says they won the race, but there’s still lots of work to do starting early this morning.
Lobb spoke to Liberal candidate Greg McClinchey just before Lobb’s acceptance speech.
Lobb says he tips his hat to McClinchey and all of the other candidates who worked hard during this campaign.
