The Desboro Agricultural Society has received almost 64 thousand dollars from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The group will use the grant to turn part of its fairgrounds back into a community friendly park.
The grant will pay for a new picnic shelter on the site of the former Centre as well as purchase new picnic tables and playground equipment.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch says the funding will mean the fairgrounds will be used most of the year instead of just a few days in the fall.
Murdoch says it will also give residents a place to gather after the Desboro Community Centre was demolished due to safety concerns this year.
