Today is the last day to visit the Wiarton Farmer’s Market this season.
Wiarton Resident Kelsey Carriere spearheaded the project this year with help from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
It ran from May until Thanksgiving each Friday from 3 til 8 and is located in the parking lot just south of the Town Hall of Berford street.
Carriere says the only change they may consider is the location, but will resume operation at the end of May next year.
She would like to see it move to the waterfront, though it’s up to the vendors association to make that call.
Carriere says in their first year, they noticed was demand far exceeded supply when it came to local produce.
She hopes to attract more produce growers next year.
On average eight to fifteen venders were on hand offering their goods, ranging from produce, to baked goods to jams, jellies and sauces and more.
Ending today too, after its first season of operation, the Williamsford market.
It runs 3 til 7 at the parking lot in the Williamsford arena.
