West Grey council has approved it’s 2008 budget.
Residents will see a tax incrase of 2.94 percent which means 38 dollars and 99 cents on the average tax bill based on a 100 thousand dollar assesment.
The total cost of the budget is just over 17 million 310 thousand dollars.
Mayor Kevin Eccles hopes residents will understand that this is a reasonable budget and is proud of council and staff to be able to work the tax increase down below 3 percent.
Eccles says council and staff worked well together to bring forward what projects they feel are necessary for this year.
Eccles says they are many capital projects for the year in Neustadt, the sewage lagoon river erosion and renovation work in the Neustadt Hall on the Neustadt Arena.
Eccles says one of the major road projects will see the municipality partnering with the township of Chatsworth to completely pave the old Sullivan Bentinck Townline to County Road 3 and 25.
