The practice of reciting the Lords Prayer in the Ontario Legislature and at Council meetings has recently come under fire.
According to our recent internet news poll, 78 percent of the respondents want to keep the legacy alive.
Many say it is a tradition that the Lords prayer is said before all meetings and should remain as such.
Our country was founded by Christians and the strong belief in the Christian faith.
Others feel we are giving up too many traditional values for the sake of a few disgruntled individuals.
The other 22 percent of the respondents believe religion and politics should never be mixed.
Others feel the Lords Prayer discriminates against other religions by favouring only one religion.
A few respondents say a moment of silence would suffice, during which the people present could reflect upon their own faith and pray for guidance if they so choose.
There were a total of 125 responses to our recent news survey.
