After a long, hard winter..its time to get outside and clean up a little.
That’s just what West Grey residents will be doing today during the Spring Cleanup Day.
Mayor Kevin Eccles says he’d like to encourage everyone to take part in picking up garbage and raking debris in the municipality’s green spaces.
Individual and neighbourhood cleanups are also encouraged.
Eccles says there are a few safety precautions needed before helping with the clean up, such as staying away from the banks of the Saugeen River and avoiding picking up any needles or other apparent drug paraphernalia.
Eccles says any West Grey volunteers who registered for the event will be recognized on their website.
