Arran-Elderslie is hosting a family fun day on Saturday to celebrate 25 years as a community.
The day of fun to mark the amalgamation anniversary is set to be held rain or shine June 8th in Chesley at the pavilion and community centre.
Activities include a ‘Chesley Firefighters Huge Yard Sale’ at the Chesley arena.
There will be a craft market, and you’re advised to bring cash to buy breakfast and lunch.
The splash pad will be open and there will be cake and ice cream in the afternoon. There will be music in the pavilion and a horticultural society plant sale,
For kids, there will be face painting, a craft area, a Big Bruce hunt, rock painting, button making, bike decorating and a parade. There will be parachutes, skipping ropes and hula hoops to play with.
There will also be a ‘touch a truck’ event which is set to include antique fire trucks, a police cruiser, Bruce Power armoured vehicle, snow plow, tractor, grader, sweeper and a backhoe.
In the afternoon there will be tree planting and volunteer award presentations.
The yard sale starts at 7 a.m. and other events follow throughout the day. There’s a pancake breakfast at 8.
