Lucknow is the site of a new Community Living residence.
Executive Director Joanne Davis says Wingham and District and South Huron Community Living worked together to make this building a reality.
The approximately 370-thousand dollar residence was partly funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the rest was raised by the South Huron Community Living group.
Davis says the Wingham and District branch will be providing the staffing for the facility.
She says a few people from Lucknow have already moved in; one into an adjacent apartment building and another into the actual residence.
Davis says it’s about bringing people back to their communities and keeping them comfortable with their surroundings.
Community Living is a global organization designed to support people with developmental challenges within their own community.
There are six residences in Huron and Bruce Counties.
