Bruce County Council has officially adopted the approved 2024 Budget.
The Budget is for a total amount of $162,535,543, which is broken down into an operating component of $140 million, and a capital budget of $22.5 million.
When council approved the Budget in November 2023, it had a projected levy increase of 6.16%.
The Budget also covers a carryover of $25.7 million in capital projects from 2022-2023.
The 2024 Budget also came with some cuts, as council decided to remove a $150,000 contribution to the Museum Expansion Reserve, a $135,000 payment for a backup shop generator for Paisley, and a $55,000 expense for Brucelea Haven Mobile Charting.
The County’s Housing Services will be investing in supports for low-income households including rent subsidies, housing stability support, and homelessness prevention.
