Those who play hockey or swim in Saugeen Shores are going to have to dig deep into their pockets.
Council passed a by-law recently that will see an increase in rental fees on all their facilities and programs.
Director of Community Services Mike Myatt says a majority of the facilities and programs will see a five percent increase across the board.
Myatt says utilities and wages are just a couple of reasons for the increase.
He says those who use the arena at the Plex will see a six dollar per hour increase while those who are enrolled in a swimming program will see fees go up by two or three dollars.
He says the increases are not large but are pretty significant.
Myatt understands that there will be those who will not like the increase in fees but it is something that the town looks closely at every year at budget time.
He says the rate increases are often to keep pace with those in other municipalities.
He says rates in Saugeen Shores are not the lowest in the region but are definitely not the highest.
