Grey Bruce is expected to get hit with a blast of winter later today.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the region. Forecasters say snow, heavy at times, as well as some ice pellets will begin to fall late this afternoon into early Thursday morning. Around 15 centimetres of accumulation is expected.
There’s also some freezing rain possible tonight.
“Light snow will become heavy at times late this afternoon or early this evening. Snow may mix with ice pellets and freezing rain tonight. The wintry mix will taper off early Thursday morning to patchy freezing drizzle,” Environment Canada says in its warning. “Another wintry mix of precipitation is possible Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening.”
Environment Canada advises surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
