There are many children who are not seated properly in vehicles. The OPP and Saugeen Shores Police partnered with the Grey Bruce Health Unit to hold child seat RIDE checks along Highway 21 on the weekend. Police say a total of 37 child restraints were checked — and a high number of them did not meet legislation requirements. Officials say many children were found to be in wrong seats based on their size. 3 of the seats were USA restraints and did not have Canadian certification. Another “Buckle Up Bears” child restraint clinic will be run held May 10th at Montgomery Ford in Kincardine.
