The Bruce Trail is coming closer to Flesherton.
A new 30 kilometre stretch is set to officially open this fall, at the East Back Line, near Hoggs Falls.
Appropriately, the new section will be called the Falling Water Trail, as it passes by Hoggs Falls as well as a few others.
Past President of the Flesherton and District Chamber of Commerce, Barbara MacKay, says it’s great news and fits in nicely with their walking initiative.
This month, the chamber is launching the Walking Village Project.
MacKay says the goal is to get residents out and active, and encourage them to explore the Bruce Trail and the Flesherton Hills.
MacKay says it’s also a great opportunity to draw tourists.
She says the goal is to get them out of the car, and walking the village, which will draw their attention to local businesses.
The chamber is planning to add some signs to the village, and benches along the trails, as well as publish some brochures.
The first step is to get a map of the Flesherton Hills trail network on the Bruce Grey Trail Network website.
