Owen Sound police have arrested an 18 year old Scenic City man on a charge of unlawfully killing an animal.
Just before Noon on Tuesday — Police were called to a disturbance in the area of 3rd Avenue East and 8th Street East.
Several people were trying to confront a man — who they believed had bludgeoned a litter of two-week old kittens earlier in the day.
Owen Sound Police investigated and determined that the accused had been consuming alcohol at a residence on the northeast side of the city.
During the early morning hours the accused allegedly beat to death a litter of kittens that had been at the residence.
Their investigation also found further damage to property at a neighbouring residence.
At this time there is no known motive for the accused mans actions.
The man faces five counts of Unlawfully Killing or Injuring an Animal, Mischief Under Five Thousand Dollars and Trespass or Prowl by Night.
He is to appear in court in Owen Sound on July 14th.
