Arran-Elderslie is itching to get work going on the Paisley Medical Clinic. Council decided yesterday to allow Chief Building Official Craig Johnston to issue a building permit that clears the way for the construction of the 22 hundred square-foot building located at the corner of Victoria and Balaclava Streets off Bruce Road 3. The only hurdle left seems to be a zoning provision that would permit a building to be erected at that location. Johnston says he will hold off construction until that is cleared up with Bruce County Planners. He says the Municipality and the County have been ironing out the issue adding there shouldn’t be any opposition to the change. He says Council’s decision to issue the building permit puts the onus on them and off the Chief Building Official. Johnston says they are ready to starting putting up the new building and it should be completed sometime in August. The new medical clinic will be fully staffed with two nurses, a nurse practitioner, a chiropodist, a pharmacist, a dietician, and a social worker
