A 53 year old Georgian Bluffs man has pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death in connection an incident two years ago involving a teenage girl.
Ronald J. Smith was in an Owen Sound court on Monday where he admitted his actions killed the 16 year old girl on May 17th, 2009.
Smith admitted giving the girl alcohol , marijuana and morphine at his home in Georgian Bluffs.
The young girl, who cannot be identified under a court order, died after emergency crews responded to a medical call in Big Bay.
The guilty plea will be followed by a pre-sentence report and submissions from the Crown and Defence on August 16th.
Additional guilty pleas are expected by Smith at the August court appearance.
He faces charges of sexual interference, sexual assault and about 20 counts of trafficking charges.
Smith has been out on bail since June 3rd, 2009.
