Mitchell says the Tory leader originally compared full-day kindergarten to buying an expensive car — then backed off on his opinion when parents said the program is needed.
She tells us the PC’s cannot be trusted to do as they say on a wide range of issues.
Mitchell warns the PC’s would likely target education and health care for cuts first even though they might promise not to.
She says Ontario students lost 26-million school days through cost-cutting and strikes under the former Mike Harris and Ernie Eves governments of the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
Mitchell accuses the Tories of talking out of both sides of their mouths.
She points to the PC’s “Changebook” policy document released last weekend that the Grits claim contains several major costing discrepancies.
Mitchell challenges the Conservatives with the question of what kind of education system is needed to make sure students are successful in later life.
She says the Liberals are committed to full-day kindergarten as the foundation of a strong education system.
