There is a steeplechase in Owen Sound today.
St. George’s Anglican Church is holding the run, walk and biking event to help pay for the new tower in the church.
One of the organizers, Jim Ralston, says they wanted to hold a fun event while also raising money to cover their costs.
Registration is at 9 AM and the actual event begins at 10 AM.
The steeplechase begins at St. George’s Anglican Church and the walkers will head to Harrison Park while the runners and bikers will head to Leith.
Then everyone will circle back to the Church for lunch.
Ralston says you can pick up pledge sheets when you register.
He notes people can also win prizes once they hand in their pledge sheet.
The new tower was built at St. George’s Anglican Church last year — and it cost half a million dollars to complete.
