West Grey finalized their 2011 budget and it comes with a tax increase of 3.3 per cent.
That means a $1,302 tax bill for a home assessed at $105,281 — which is up by just over 40 dollars from 2010.
West Grey Mayor Kevin Eccles says capital spending this year is 2.3 million dollars.
Two of the biggest projects this year came in the roads department.
Eccles says instead of paving 1.5 kilometres of Grey Road 12, they are paving 3.5 kilometres.
There were also substantial cuts in the roads budget that Eccles didn’t want to see happen.
Eccles says now some major road projects are being put off until at least 2012.
The total operating budget for public works is 3 million dollars.
Meanwhile, even with the type of budget they had, Eccles says they were able to put some money away into their reserves.
He points to the 150 thousand dollars in OMPF funding they received — which he notes came early this year.
