The Ministry of Labour has been called in after a high school student was injured in the shop at her school.
Wellington OPP were called to Wellington Heights Secondary School at about 1 PM on Wednesday after a report a student was injured in the machine shop.
Firefighters from the Mount Forest Fire Department and Paramedics from Guelph-Wellington E.M.S. also responded to the scene.
Investigation revealed that the victim, a 16-year-old girl from West Luther Township, was working at a lathe in the machine shop when she bent over and her hair became entangled in the lathe.
The victim was transported to Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest Hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Victim Services Wellington was notified, along with the Ministry of Labour has been advised.
