The Hanover & District Big Brothers, Big Sisters is looking for some new faces on this year’s Board of Directors.
Executive Director Chantal LaDuke says they need a new Treasurer.
She says they’re preferably looking for someone who has an accounting background and can do the bookkeeping for the board.
LaDuke says they’re going through some changes, so they also need volunteers on the 2011/2012 committees.
Specifically, they need a Youth Director and Chairpersons for the Fundraising and Program Committees.
LaDuke says they’re shifting to a committee structure, because right now it is an operational board.
She’s hoping the board can become a governance board instead and direct and support the agency’s activities.
The Hanover chapter will also be covering more ground this year, as it will reach out and provide a community committee in Port Elgin.
LaDuke says they will also be establishing a committee in Owen Sound to support the Little Sisters who no longer have an agency looking after them.
Nominations for positions and elections and appointments will take place tonight (TUES) at the Annual General Meeting.
It begins at 6 PM at the Hanover BBBS office on 10th Street.
