Hanover Councillors are going high tech.
The town is moving towards a paperless council system and Councillors are trading in their paper agendas for iPads.
Clerk Treasure Christine Walker says council debated between laptops or iPads and decided to go with the latter.
Walker says iPads were the obvious choice given the large amount of reading Councillors have to do to prepare for meetings.
Walker notes electronic media is becoming the norm and she hopes the new paperless system will benefit the environment.
This new system is a trial.
If councillor’s don’t like the new system they will be able to return to the old paper system.
The iPads cost 600 dollars a piece.
Other neighbouring municipalities such as Brockton and West Grey have also forgone their paper agendas in favour of the electronic versions.
