The Grey Bruce Health Unit is asking for your help, in finding the owner of two dogs involved in a biting incident that occurred north of Nodwell Park on the Woodland Trail in Port Elgin.
Thursday at about 5 PM — a man riding his bike encountered two light colored dogs, possibly Terriers.
Both dogs were wearing brown harnesses, and the man was bitten by one of the dogs as he rode by them.
They appeared to be at large without their owner at the time of the incident.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit needs to confirm that the dog is not infectious with rabies.
By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
Observing that the dog is still alive can eliminate the possibility that the victim was exposed to the rabies virus.
