A benefit is being held for a Dobbinton family this weekend.
Organizer Mary Trelford says a local farm family has been struggling since last fall, when Tim Hackett’s left arm was lost in a post-hole auger accident.
Trelford says he has also had many surgeries on his right arm, and has been fitted for a prosthesis.
Not only has the family been struggling financially to pay for doctor visits and treatments, it’s also difficult to keep working the farm.
Trelford says Hackett has been a farmer all his life, and plans to continue farming.
She says they’re hoping they can do all they can.
Trelford says they are holding a benefit at the Tara legion tonight.
The admission is free, but there will be a live auction and other ways to donate throughout the evening.
