A huge send off is planned for the Owen Sound Attack as they prepare to go for the Mastercard Memorial Cup.
Mayor Deb Haswell says a party is planned for Wednesday afternoon..
It will take place at 5:30 PM at the Owen Sound Farmers Market located behind City Hall.
The OHL team is scheduled to arrive at 6 PM.
Haswell says the sendoff party offers fans an opportunity to sign a large send-off banner GO ATTACK GO all the way.
There will be cake and musical entertainment at the send off.
Mayor Haswell isn’t sure how big the party will be, but says judging by what happened on Sunday there should be a huge crowd showing their support for the Ontario Hockey League champions.
Thousands attended an impromptu parade on Sunday night after the Attack won the OHL Championship with a 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Michael’s Majors in Mississauga.
