A 59 year old Owen Sound man has been taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision in the 600 block of 10th Street West in Owen Sound.
Police were inundated with 9-1-1 calls following the 9 AM collision on Tuesday, involving a Kawasaki motorcycle with a sidecar and a Dodge mini-van.
The motorcyclist was travelling in the westbound passing lane of 10th Street West, and was struck by the van as it attempted to turn left from a business onto eastbound 10th Street.
Owen Sound Police say a bus driver in the curb lane had signalled the van driver to proceed from the driveway, contributing to the collision.
Three lanes of 10th Street West were closed for just over an hour as police conducted their investigation.
A 30-year old Owen Sound resident has been charged with failing to yield.
The motorcyclist is currently being assessed in hospital.
The extent of his injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
The Owen Sound Police Service wishes to sincerely thank the civilians that immediately came to the aid of the injured driver.
