The OPP have charged an Owen Sound man with internet child luring.
29 year old Corey Brown was arrested in Waterloo on Wednesday and charged with one count of Luring a Child to Facilitate a Sexual Offence and one count of Breach of Probation.
It was a joint arrest with members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Section, the Owen Sound Police Service and the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
In mid April, the Owen Sound Police Service investigated after several citizens received unsolicited text messages seeking sexual encounters from an individual portraying to be a 15 year old boy.
Some of the recipients of these text messages included children under 12 years old.
Following an on-line undercover investigation, police successfully identified Brown.
He’s being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Waterloo.
