They are the ‘unsung heroes’ of healthcare and this is their week to shine.
This is Nursing Week in Ontario — and nurses are being recognized for their dedication to patient care and the health care system.
The CEO of the Hanover and District Hospital, Katrina Wilson, says nurses really are the face of health care.
She says they are the front line workers who often go above and beyond the call of duty.
The Hanover and District Hospital employs about 60 nurses.
This week also coincides with the birth of the most famous nurse ever — Florence Nightengale who laid the foundation of professional nursing.
Nightengale was born on May 12th, 1820.
