There’s plenty of interest in going green this Fall.
The Bruce Grey Owen Sound Provincial Green Party now has two hopefuls as Shane Jolley and West Grey Councillor Don Marshall race to represent the party.
Jolley — who appeared on the CFOS Open Line on Wednesday — announced he’s taking another shot at the job.
Jolley was previously the deputy leader for the Green Party of Ontario.
He also had the best finish of any Green Party candidate in a Canadian federal or provincial election back in 2007.
With more than 33 per cent of the vote, Jolley finished second to outgoing Conservative MPP Bill Murdoch.
Jolley says that was a monumental challenge and feels this time around his chances are far better.
Lately, the local shop owner in Owen Sound has been busy with the Locomotive project.
That project is based on helping Grey and Bruce citizens access local food systems and re-gain control over economic and social responsibilities.
The deadline for candidates to file their papers is May 18th, while the nomination convention goes June 1st.
