Here we go again.
Kincardine council meets at 5 PM today to re-start budget talks.
The meeting was made necessary when councillors turned down a budget calling for a 12 per cent increase while the document was at the bylaw stage.
When it was defeated, it meant Kincardine had no operating budget for 2011.
Deputy Mayor Anne Eadie says she was one that voted against the 12 per cent increase budget.
She says she felt the increase was too high.
Eadie would like to see only a 5 per cent increase in taxes but she can be stretched to 7 per cent if necessary.
She says everyone that’s talked to her has said they were relieved that the original budget was shot down.
Eadie says the municipality needs to live within its means and with the help of staff, they will re-visit the challenge again this afternoon.
