After a one-year hiatus, the ABC Gathering is returning to the Kincardine municipal airport for a one-day show.
Show director Scott Evans says ABC stands for Aero-Bikes-Cars, both classic and new that will be featured at the event.
Evans says they decided not to have the event last year because of the extensive construction on Highway 21 that would have made travel to the area challenging at best.
He says in the 2009 show, they attracted six thousand people to the airport and he hopes to do at least that this year.
Evans says the theme of the 2011 gathering is a celebration of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan which was created during the Second World War to increase the numbers of pilots available to fight the Axis powers.
On display will be some of the aircraft used in the training of the pilots including the North American Harvard and the Fairchild Cornell.
Evans says in some cases rides will be available on the aircraft.
He’s also working with Ducati Motorcycles to have the latest models on hand, to try out on a prescribed course in the area.
The ABC Gathering is scheduled to run Sunday, July 31st, from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Kincardine Airport.
