The smell of barbecue will fill the air in Owen Sound, Port Elgin, and Hanover today.
It’s the 23rd annual Charity BBQ Day at M&M’s Meat Shops.
All of the money raised goes towards the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
Local owner James Lorenz says it’s all part of a national campaign that has raised over 20 million dollars for research.
He says this year’s national goal is 1.6 million dollars, and at his three local stores he’s hoping to bring in at least 10 thousand dollars.
To do that, you can stop by any of the three locations and donate a minimum of $2.50 and receive a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink.
Lorenz says the total amount goes back to the CCFC.
He says the forecast looks pretty good so he’s confident they’ll see many people come support the cause and help them reach the 10 thousand dollar goal.
The BBQ runs from 10 AM to 4 PM.
