Bruce Power, with the help of volunteers, is getting ready for another day of tree planting.
Bruce Power Community and Government Relations Manager Ross Lamont says a living snow fence will be planted on Saturday — which helps fight that dreaded drifting and blowing snow in winter which reduces visibility.
Lamont tells Bayshore Broadcasting News about a thousand trees will be planted this year, many of them along County Road 33.
He says the program has been in effect for the past nine years and some seven thousand trees have been planted along the various roadways, including Highway 21.
Lamont says everything gets underway Saturday at 8 AM at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton with a bite to eat, some instructions and some warm-ups.
The day ends with a luncheon BBQ.
