A vision of Brockton’s future recreation needs is the topic of tonight’s public meeting.
It takes place at 7 PM at the Walkerton Community Centre.
Consultants will unveil the direction Brockton residents have indicated that they would like to see the municipality go in regards to recreation.
This includes everything from new soccer fields and better recreation facilities to more leisure activities.
This plan involved heavy public input in the form of public meetings and random phone surveys.
Mayor Dave Inglis encourages residents to attend — he believes they will be impressed with the vision.
Inglis says while the Recreation Master Plan doesn’t include timelines — it does provides direction as to which way the municipality needs to go to meet Brockton’s current and future recreation needs.
Inglis says tonight’s meeting will provide residents with the opportunity to discuss the plan and provide feedback.
Once the public has had a chance to voice their opinion — the plan will than come before Council for final approval.
Brockton has invested about 40 thousand dollars into the plan through consultant fees.
Officials hope the Recreation Master Plan will go a long way in helping the municipality secure future government funding for a new recreation facility.
