With the introduction of agriculture to the curriculum of Georgian College, a new course is getting underway called Alternative Agriculture, Crop Production.
Instructor Christine Hammel tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it’s a course for those who want to look into farming as a living.
Hammel says the program is also helpful for those who already farm for a living.
Hammel says this course will focus on advances in crop production, soil, agro ecosystems and consumers.
She says it will explore many farming practices already employed in Grey Bruce and ways to improve them and increase production through marketing, processing and product quality.
