The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association and the Sources of Knowledge Committee are getting some funding.
The two groups have secured almost 36 thousand dollars in funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
They will use the money to pilot a youth-led conservation project on the Bruce Peninsula to promote the adoption of dark sky friendly lighting practices.
Two youth will be hired to develop public awareness materials and launch a program where residents can get a light assessment of their home.
Dark Sky Committee member Doug Cunningham says preserving the natural night sky can not only save money — but it will also protect wildlife.
The money will also hope cover the cost of the Sources of Knowledge forum — which will be held this weekend.
