Today is “We Day” at Saugeen District Secondary School.
On Tuesday — students are practicing the philosophy of thinking of others in a global community with special speakers and music.
Spokesperson Nicola Bruce says although the afternoon events are for students, there is a program this evening that is open to the public.
Bruce says tickets are five dollars each and all the proceeds will go to the school’s “Me to We” group.
Speaking tonight will be a former child-soldier from the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa who will be speaking on behalf of Free the Children.
In addition local bands will be performing music that sends the message of We Day through song.
Free The Childrens We Day is more than just one day of celebration and inspiration.
Its part of an innovative year-long program created to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change in the world.
