Ethics and the Economy dominated the CFOS Open Line and Bayshore Broadcasting News debate with the four candidates in the Bruce Grey Owen Sound riding.
Conservative M-P Larry Miller, Kimberley Love of the Liberals, New Democrat Karen Gventer and Emma Hogbin of the Green Party all participated on Friday morning.
All four party candidates said they hated the bickering that had taken place over the last two years in the House of Commons.
All four party candidates also said they were not afraid to vote against their party and vote in support of the wishes of their constituents.
Miller says this election is about the economy and the Conservatives have a strong plan to cut taxes to create jobs and continue with the economic recovery.
Love says this election is one of the most important in our history because the Conservatives have abused their power in government.
Hogbin says it’s time to reconnect the community to federal politics because she thinks all of the bickering has turned voters off.
Gventer says the Conservative tax cuts have not worked for everyone — and the New Democrats have a plan to increase spending for health care and to help secure jobs.
All of the candidates did say they were happy the local campaign doesn’t include the bickering and attacks that have dominated the scene on Parliament Hill.
