Up to 250 members of the Royal Canadian Legion will be in Owen Sound this weekend for the District C two day convention.
Branch 6 Public Relations Officer Patty Sargent-Gibson says the convention brings together delegates from 50 Legion branches across the area.
On Saturday — there will be a parade from the Owen Sound Tourism office on 1st Avenue West down to the cenotaph.
The parade begins at 11:30 AM, and once at the cenotaph, there will be a service that includes a commemoration of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
During the ceremony, the President of the Army Cadet League of Canada and the Provincial President of the Ontario Command will sign a declaration for the annual remembrance of this historic occasion on the 94th anniversary of the Battle.
Sargent-Gibson says not all 250 legion members attending the convention, will be involved in the parade on Saturday.
