The Tiverton Agricultural Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and have some big plans for special events leading up to the Tiverton Fall Fair in October.
They had recently applied for some grant money from the province from the Ministry of Tourism for 40 thousand dollars — but it seems all the info for the grant money has disappeared from the website.
Kincardine Councillor Ron Coristine says the group was depending on the money and he’s contacted Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell’s office and they say they’ll look into the matter.
Coristine says the ag society is booking events and equipment and now may be short the cash.
Coristine hopes Mitchell’s office can come up with an alternative for the group that would help them out financially.
Meanwhile, Tiverton councillor Randy Roppel will be advising the community of the potential shortfall in cash for the society to see if residents can help out as well.
