The Bruce Grey Catholic school board is encouraging high school students to look at careers in health and wellness. More than 70 students from Sacred Heart in Walkerton and St. Mary’s in Owen Sound will attend day long workshops on physical and mental wellness Wednesday. Superintendent, Jerry Casey, says this should help create awareness and opportunity for students as they plan their future. Casey says it should get tudents to think about what courses they will need to take in Grade 11 and 12. The conference, held at Talisman Mountain Resort, will offer workshops in physical and mental health and mental health and wellness. They will be on teen health and technology, fitness for health, french fries or fresh fruit, how to handle everyday stress, youth gambling and depression in teens. Presenters from the Bruce Grey Health Unit will attend and Medical Officer of Health Doctor Hazel Lynn will make a key note address in the morning.
