A multi-million dollar upgrade to the municipal water systems around Sauble Beach is nearing completion.
South Bruce Peninsula Manager of Public Works Brad McRoberts says in total, the project is worth eleven million dollars.
Two thirds of the money has come from the provincial and federal governments.
The remaining third of the cost is paid for by the users on the water system.
McRoberts says over the last few years, South Bruce Peninsula has been upgrading several water treatment plants in the area including those at Oliphant, Chesley Lake and Huron Woods.
Currently, the work involves upgrading seven smaller systems into one new system called the Amabel-Sauble water system.
McRoberts says that watermain work around Sauble Beach should be completed in the next few months and construction of a new water treatment plant will be finished in early spring.
