The fire drill will take place tomorrow morning at 11 A.M. as part of Fire Prevention Week.
Acting Fire Chief Phil Eagleson says at that time all the students will leave their buildings.
He says it is amazing that 300 children can evacuate a building safely in less thanĀ four minutes and they have become ambassadors for fire safety.
He says they practice it over and over again and are becoming very good at it.
Eagleson says fire fighters will be at each school to greet the students once they exit the building.
He says it will give fire fighters a chance to interact with the students and deliver the message of fire safety.
It is all part of Fire Prevention Week that beganĀ last Saturday with an Open House at the Port Elgin Fire Hall.
Eagleson says they had all the fire trucks out for the people to see and gave auto extrication demonstrations.
He says Saugeen Shores Police, the OPP, Bruce Safe Communities, and Bruce County EMS were also at the open house.
Eagleson says the rest of the week will be spent in schools talking to the students on a variety of related topics.
