The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks will be playing their home games at the Plex again this season.
Council agreed last night to renew their lease with the Senior A mens hockey team for the 2008-2009 season.
The Town’s Director of Community Services Mike Myatt says they have a great working relationship with the team.
He says the first year of operations was a tremendous success and hopes the Town can extend the lease with the Winterhawks for a longer term.
The agreement sees the team pay 138 dollars an hour for use of the rink during game nights, 120 dollars an hour for practice times, and 27 dollars an hour for the use of Rotary Hall.
Myatt says the rate is up by four to five percent from last year and the team will pay the same rate as any organization or individual that uses the facility.
The Winterhawks open the regular season at Shallow Lake Friday October 24th, their home opener is the following night on October 25th against Ripley.
