The figures from the final Relay for Life in our region will put the Bluewater Cancer Society just under half a million dollars this year.
Relay Fundraising Co Ordinator Karen Neerhoff says Hanover’s event
raised more than 142 thousand dollars as more than 600 people took part.
She says they’ve got great community support in Hanover not only from participants but also from the sponsors and volunteers.
Neerhoff says that’s the final Relay for Life event in this region for the year.
All six events managed to raise 462 thousand dollars and while their goal was a little more than that…organizers are thrilled with the level of participation.
Money raised goes to cancer research.
