The Kincardine Scouts are busy planning fundraisers.
Commissioner Nancy Jackson says they have to pay a debt of thirteen thousand five hundred dollars to Shining Waters Council or lose the deed to Wildfang Park.
Jackson says that’s the group that encompasses area Scouting troups.
It covered a seventeen thousand dollar bill to fix mandatory wall and floor repairs at the Kincardine Hall.
Serious issues were discovered after Christmas Break 2007 and fixed.
Jackson admits the turn around time for repayment is a bit shocking.
They have until August 29th, 2009 to pay it back, or council will put Wildfang Park up for sale.
Jackson says it will be tough, but hopes they can raise the money; to date they have 31 hundred dollars towards the debt.
She says they are planning several events and fundraisers to make it happen and have also contacted service groups for assistance too.
Wildfang Park is located along the Penetangore River; the Kincardine troops use it for various things like campfire meetings, canoe training and camp sleepovers.
