The victim has been identified as 60 year old John Walter of East Linton.
Grey County OPP say the man succumbed to serious burn injuries in hospital yesterday.
The Inter-Township Fire Department responded to the fire at the home on First Street in East Linton at about 8 o’clock Friday night.
The home was fully engulfed in flames and Deputy Fire Chief Dan Carruthers says they didn’t get the fire under control until Midnight.
They remained on the scene until mid afternoon Saturday.
Immediate neighbours were evacuated from their homes for a period of time.
Walter’s 59 year old wife was able to escape the home without injury.
A post mortem will be conducted in London tomorrow morning (TUES).
Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office are on the scene today working to determine the cause of the explosion.
But Police say their investigation is not criminal in nature.
