West Grey Police say the incident happened around 12 Noon on Saturday.
The Walkerton boy was with his father and brother cutting a large limb off a tree at their grandfather’s home when the limb cut away and hit the boy on the head.
The 2 young sons were holding the ladder for their father.
The 11 year old boy was transported to Hanover hospital and later transferred by air ambulance to Sick Children’s hospital in London.
Later that day, he died of his injuries.
The other youth was not hurt.
