A new Operations Manager is taking over in Georgian Bluffs on today.
Rick Winters is replacing Micheal Day, the former Operations Manager who moved on to work in another municipality.
Winters has over 15 years experience in municipal service work, private sewage installations and inspections, EPA enforcement and project tendering.
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot says he looks forward to Winters taking over the job, adding there is a pile of work on his desk for when he starts.
Barfoot says they had some 20 applicants from all across Ontario, but says it is nice to hire someone local for the job.
Winters has been Branch Manager at Porters Concrete in Rockford until now, and Barfoot says that will give him plenty of insight into all water related issues.
He also was an Environmental technician for the Health Unit for over 5 years.
