While National polls show strong support for Stephen Harper and the Conservatives — our listeners are not as happy with his work as Prime Minister.
Almost 200 people responded to our two week survey and 56 per cent said they would not re-elect Harper if an election were held today.
The respondents pointed to job losses in the region.
Some also believe the environment is not high enough on the Conservative agenda while others just don’t like Harper’s leadership qualities.
Of the 44 per cent who support Harper — many say the Conservatives are the only party who can lead Canada through tough economic times.
They also don’t like any of the other leadership candidates.
No other party stood out among the respondents — instead support was split among the Liberals, New Democrats and the Green party.
It’s believed the Conservatives are leading in voter support in the ridings of Bruce Grey Owen Sound and Simcoe Grey.
But the race is much tighter in Huron Bruce.
